Actress Kristina Kazlauskaitė is once again taking on the role of director – the comedy "Three Beloved" by the Lithuanian literary classic Julija Beniuševičiūtė-Žymantienė, better known by her pseudonym Žemaitė.
The play takes place in a Lithuanian village. The village boy Liudvikas tries to seduce three lovers at the same time – a mother and her two daughters living in a village hut. However, his goal is evil – not love, but wealth. The young man tries to cheat his mother out of her savings. This is where a comedy of various situations – lies, deceit, seduction – is born, when each of the three women seriously falls in love with Liudvikas.
The vivid characters in the play will be embodied by legendary theater actors: the role of the Mother is played by actresses Dalia Brenciūtė and Violeta Podolskaitė. Younger generation actors Balys Ivanauskas and Artūras Dubaka will share the role of Liudvikas, and the daughters will be played alternately by Redita Dominaitytė and Kristina Savickytė (Petronėlė) and Aistė Lasytė and Veronika Tarasevičiūtė (Domicelė). The farmer Kozeris will be played by Vytautas Taukinaitis and Gediminas Storpirštis.
"Three Beloveds" is one of the works of national dramaturgy and remains relevant today. Three women and one man. Deception or sincerity? Love or calculation? Eternal questions that Kristina Kazlauskaitė, using her vision as a director, the talents of the actors, spoken dialects, and conveying the amplitude of human qualities and feelings, will try to answer in a sensual, dramatic, and comical way.
We all want to love and be loved. Louis and his three beloveds are a great example of this.
