Antanas Obcarskas
1971-1973 studied at Kaunas four-year children's art school (now Kaunas Antanas Martinaitis art school), 1973-1977. studied at Kaunas S. Žukas Technical School of Applied Arts (currently Faculty of Arts and Education of Kaunas College), 1982 graduated from the Lithuanian State Art Institute (currently the Vilnius Academy of Arts). Since 1990 - Member of the Union of Lithuanian Artists. Since 1993 - member of the group of artists "Angis". Since 2011 Member of the German artists' union "Focus Europa". Since 2013 Head of the "Antaniniai obolioi" painting studio. From 2022 WCAA (South Korea) director for Lithuania.
He has been participating in art exhibitions since 1982. Organized individual exhibitions: in Kaunas, Palanga, Vilnius, Biršton (1988, 1992, 1998, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2021), Poland (2004), Holland (1995, 1997), Germany (1990, 1993, 1998) , 2007), Portugal (2010), etc.: participated in group exhibitions in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, China, Korea, Bangladesh, Peru, India, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France, . Britain, Spain, etc. Participated in the 54th Venice Biennale, Italy (2011), NordArt 2014 in Germany, the 15th Vilnius Painting Triennial (2013), the 6th Beijing International Art Biennale in China (2015), the 16th Vilnius Painting Triennial (2016), 7- at the Beijing International Art Biennale in China (2017), the 18th Asian Art Biennale in Bangladesh (2018), the 19th Asian Art Biennale in Bangladesh (2022), etc.
Won awards, scholarships: 1993 – Lippe County Cultural Institute scholarship (Schwalenberg, Germany), 1997. – State scholarship of the highest degree of Lithuanian culture and art, 1997 - Pollock-Krasner Foundation Scholarship (New York, USA), 2000 and 2002. - Award of the National MKČiurlionis Art Museum and the Culture Department of the Kaunas City Municipality for works in the exhibition "The best work of the year", 2005. - Individual state scholarship of the Ministry of Culture, 2013. exhibition "Color-Mood-Symbol" in Gallery "Balta" Grand Prix, 2014 Lithuanian Culture Council individual state scholarship for culture and art creators and Kaunas City Municipality Culture and Art scholarship. in 2020 Lithuanian Culture Council individual state scholarship for cultural and artistic creators. 2021, 2024 Lithuanian Culture Council individual state scholarship for cultural and artistic creators. in 2015 awarded Kaunas district. with the municipality's III-level Badge of Honor.
The artist's works have been purchased by the Lithuanian Art Museum (Vilnius), the National MK Čiurlionis Art Museum (Kaunas), the MO Museum (Vilnius), the Lippe Region Municipality, Detmold (Germany), Emschertal - Museum, Herne (Germany), Museum Okręgowe w Nowym Sączu ( Poland), Das Kleine Museum – Kultur auf der Peunt, Weissenstadt (Germany), Rabindranath Tagore Centre, ICCR, Calcutta, (India), as well as organizations and private collectors in Lithuania and abroad.
