The exhibition presents paintings painted with the author's technique, created in the years 2006-2024. Some of them are portraits of young people, former students of the Art Gymnasium - this is an experiment lasting several years, painting from nature at different times. The author says that in portrait painting it is important for her to reveal the psychology of the person being portrayed, especially a young person, his inner landscape, which is characteristic of the painting of the old masters. Painting a portrait is slow, therefore it takes a long time, it is not a passive situation, but a co-creation, a psychological study, communication and exploration of how much can be learned from another person, establishing a deep relationship with him. The heroes of the portraits are young people, ambitious creators and artists, personalities whose inner world is not easy to find the key to, but very interesting. Some portraits are painted using the works of contemporary photographers and interpreting them in their own way. The exhibition "Glances" is the artist's encounters: both with the eyes of those portrayed and with the eyes of observers and viewers. This is the artist's second personal exhibition in Biršton.
J. Linkevičiūtė's work does not contain any topical issues or social realism, she calls her paintings states and cultivation and harmonization of the inner "I". "When you pass through your personal wars, bullying, misunderstanding, through that narrow, narrow gate, life opens up to you. Studying art - drawing, painting, sculpture lessons at Marijampole Art School with famous Lithuanian artists: K. Morkūnas, V. Ir J. Juodzevičius, J. Naruši, S. Juškienė, S. Rickevičiūtė, J. Prakapa, J. Tumas. Sculptor R. Antinis and painter A. Obcarskas, who greatly encouraged his creativity, were instrumental in creating his own, authentic stroke since 2006. However, the most important teacher is Pranas Gailius, one of the most famous painters of the Lithuanian diaspora, several meetings in 2014-2015. In Paris, he taught "think painting". "It doesn't matter whether you paint figuratively or abstractly, you're already in painting," said the artist. The result of these lessons and communication for two years is the creative biography of the artist written by J. Linkevičiūtė-literary fiction "Paris towels" (2020, "Meno parkas").
Since 2010 10 personal exhibitions were held in Vilnius, Kaunas, Birštonas and other Lithuanian cities, paintings were purchased by private individuals in Germany and Poland. We cooperate with "Parko Galerija" in Kaunas.
