about
A unique exhibition of two artists at the Birštonas Cultural Center.
“In my works, I often use objects that are seen as garbage in everyday life. It is impossible not to see them – they are everywhere in the eye. But I find them beautiful. Structures of garbage, plants, and sand formed on the banks of a city stream… Cellophane bags, lost items, glass bottles covered with a layer of silt and sand, like “secrets” created by the stream… I also use recycled materials – parts of old furniture, mechanisms, fence boards, or old things and toys thrown into the attic. I use organic materials – straw, branches, grass, a mixture of clay or sand, acrylic and oil paints. The variety or incompatibility of materials sometimes produces surprising results, the strangest combinations and textures,” says V. Žvirblis.
The exhibition will run until May 31.
