The exhibition presents exceptional sofas and towels that belong to the collections of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art.
These fabrics were created by residents of the Birštonas municipality in the 19th-20th centuries, and were later collected and preserved by the National Museum of Latvia.
During the exhibition presentation, you will have a unique opportunity to meet with Dalia Bernotaite-Beliauskiene, Head of the Folk Art Department of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, ethnographer. She will share interesting insights about the 1954 expedition to the Nemajuņa and Birštonas areas, during which examples of folk art were recorded and collected.
