about
The exhibition will be open from February 8 to March 30.
The exhibition features a collection of sacred miniatures. The exhibition features more than half a thousand religious images, which in the 19th and 20th centuries were popularly known as "abrozdėliai". Usually, such an image was kept in a prayer book, which is why it is also called a prayer picture.
"These little beads are holy, but not because they depict any saint or blessed one, or Jesus, but because they are covered in prayer. All those beads were in prayer books, held in the hands of people who had seen the most suffering."
The lives of most people were truly difficult. The 19th and 20th centuries were marked by various trials and people held them in their hands and they were extremely precious.” cit. Fr. M. Mitkevičius.
