In the middle of spring and when the weather warms up, there is an increasing desire to spend time outdoors, to try out favorite or never-before-tried activities. Birštonas already has the longest toboggan run in Lithuania, and many other activities popular with tourists will start the season on the long weekend: a climbing tower, camping, extreme water entertainment "Birštonas Wake Park", boat navigation in the Nemunas will start.

Rūta Kapačinskaitė, the director of the Birštonas tourism information center, notes that Birštonas is discovered not only by quiet sanatorium recreation, but also by lovers of active activities, families with children. "Last year, we recorded queues of people at the newly opened toboggan run, the climbing tower, guests were delighted by a full campsite, active sailing and educational water tours took place in the Nemunas. We hope that this warm season and the offer of entertainment will invite even more tourists to the resort", says R. Kapačinskaitė.

From April 28 lovers of heights are invited to refresh their climbing skills with the 12-meter climbing tower "It's fun to climb", which has 7 walls and as many as 30 routes of different difficulty: from very easy to the most difficult, which even professionals can hardly overcome. This year, a completely new, one of the easiest tracks "Kopetėlės" has been installed, which can be climbed by children aged five and older.

"Last year, the youngest climbers were 3 years old, and the oldest climber was a woman of retirement age who completed half of the route. At least 50 percent of people who approach the tower or climb the first two meters realize that they are afraid of heights. There is a category of brave people who, even with a strong fear of heights, still climb without looking down. It's fun to see how family members compete with each other, and the children's emotions are the best, many say that climbing is really better than sitting at the computer", Martas Paulauskas, the designer of the tower, shares his impressions of the last season.

On Friday, the camping "Natur Camp" located at the approaches of the resort and Žvērinčius forest starts the season. Cabins, places for campers and tents will be available for the convenience of the visitors, and the camping bar is also open. Natur Camp's activities are expanding, so every year they prepare surprises for their guests. In May, guests will be able to stay in "glamping" (glamorous camping) tents. The installation of padel courts is planned during the season. Padel is a fast-growing racquet sport that requires less physical training than tennis or squash, making it popular among children and older players.

The creators of the longest toboggan track in Lithuania, which is already in operation, also promise news. Their plans include not only the already popular extreme sledding on a 600 m long track, but also the installation of a leisure area during the summer: a special labyrinth for children, downhill skiing, a relaxation terrace with snacks and drinks.

As the weather warms up and the spring winds die down, hot air balloon pilots begin their flying season. A hot air balloon flight over Birštonas is fascinating with the views of the large Nemunas loops, Punias shil, and the observation tower. The flight lasts about an hour, and the impressions remain for a long time.

There will be no shortage of action on the last weekend of April at the resort, both on land and in the water. On Saturday, the XXXVII international Antanas Mikėnas memorial sports walking competition will be held in Biršton. Extreme water sports enthusiasts are waiting for "Birštonas Wake Park", and the season of recreational boating is starting in Nemunas. On May 7, Mother's Day, the whale-sized ship "Algirdas" starts sailing on the picturesque route "Birštonas-Prienai-Birštonas".
