Birštonas introduces a mobile app for residents: dozens of discounts and resort information on your phone

The mobile “Birštonas Citizen Card” is an important step on the path to digitalization of the Lithuanian resort. This service, which was launched in 2017, has become popular among the city’s residents over the past eight years. Until now, only a physical card was used, of which more than a thousand units have been issued. The new digital version will not only be more convenient to use, but will also create greater added value, significantly increase the number of users, and allow for more flexible response to the needs of the Birštonas community.

"The decision to create such an app came from the desire to have a modern, most convenient form of card for residents. Technology has become an integral part of all of our everyday lives, so we aimed to make the "Birštoniečio kertė" accessible via mobile phone - quickly, simply, anywhere. The digital version also provides new opportunities for local businesses - they will be able to present their offers faster and more attractively, and respond more promptly to the needs and feedback of residents," emphasizes Nijolė Dirginčienė, Mayor of Birštonas Municipality.

The new mobile app expands the capabilities of the regular card and provides additional functions. In addition to the usual benefits and special offers in Birštonas establishments, residents can now personalize their digital card, quickly receive information about new discounts, see a list of offers and descriptions of services provided by companies, get acquainted with the nearest events taking place in Birštonas, and share feedback.

22 local companies and institutions have already joined the "Birštonas Citizen Card" program, offering various benefits. Among them are well-known resort sanatoriums, SPA centers, restaurants, entertainment organizers, and cultural institutions. The program acts as a community loyalty system, encouraging residents to choose Birštonas businesses and take advantage of offers such as discounts on wellness procedures, meals, or entertainment.

"Birštonas Citizen Card" is available to all residents aged 16 and over who have declared their place of residence in Birštonas municipality. It is planned to expand the app's functions over time, adapting them to new needs.

Innovative digital services and products are increasingly being developed in Birštonas, and they are particularly relevant in the tourism sector. Among the most important mobile applications of the city are the “Birštonas” app, which contains all the resort’s tourism information in six languages, the “Eglės sanatorijas” app, designed for sanatorium clients to follow the schedules of procedures, services and entertainment, and the “Ulba Go” application offers the thematic route “Birštonas kurorto istorijos” and the interactive game “Banginukas”. In addition, the sanatorium “Versmė” has also digitized its activities – it has implemented the digital system “INOSPA Hotel & Medical”, which optimizes the processes of guest accommodation, treatment procedures, accounting and document signing.
