300 steps, 55 meters high and breathtaking views of the Nemunas loops - this is the gift that the highest observation tower in Lithuania gives visitors every time.

This year, the tourist attraction located in Biršton celebrates its fifth anniversary, and on this occasion, for the first time, the running to the tower competition is also organized.

in 2019 In Biršton, in the Nemunas Loops Regional Park on the Škėvoniy ridge, the highest 55-meter observation tower in Lithuania has been erected. Until then, the landscape of the Nemunas Loops could be seen by visitors only by taking off in a hot air balloon or paraglider. The tower is distinguished by its design, its metal structure is "covered" with larch panels with triangular windows and resembles a chapel pillar or a bell tower.

"In order to see Birštonas from a bird's eye view, you will have to climb 300 steps to the observation deck at a height of 45 meters. We are glad that the tower remains attractive to visitors even after five years. Every year more and more tourists climb it not only from Lithuania, but also from abroad. The tower, specially illuminated on special occasions, becomes the beacon of the resort during national, summer or winter holidays", says Rūta Kapačinskaitė, head of the Birštonas Tourism Information Center.

in 2022 at the end of the year, a monitoring system was installed in the observation tower - a sensory light board, recording the growing flow of visitors. in 2023 it was visited by almost 127 thousand visitors. Halfway through 2024, close to 55,000 visitors have already visited the tower, and in June alone, 15,000 tourists enjoyed the panorama of Birštonas.

July 11 the observation tower-king celebrates its five-year anniversary, so on the occasion of its opening, a 300-step running competition is organized for the first time. On Friday, July 12, at 6 p.m., two age groups will start the competition: 12-17 year olds and adults (from 18 years old). The organizers of the event, the Birštonas Sports Center, invite everyone who wants to challenge themselves not only to climb the highest observation tower in Lithuania, but also to run up to it, to register. Commemorative medals and souvenirs will be awarded to those who have overcome the distance, and cups to the winners.
