For Lithuanians, during the press ban, having books in their native language was a necessity.

These were the booksellers' prayer books, catechisms and other publications brought from Prussia at the risk of their lives. In exile, Lithuanians made such booklets using brown wrapping paper.
In the exposition of Blessed Teofilius Matulionis, there is a handwritten prayer book with impeccable handwriting. It was created in Saint Petersburg in 1926. February 16 For priest Teofilis, who returned from prison to Leningrad, prayer gave him meaning and strength in his everyday life.
